Course Description
This college level course is designed to give the highly motivated art student an in depth study in the area of studio art. Previous art course experience is highly suggested to be successful in this rigorous course. The goal of the course is for the student to complete a successful portfolio of 15 works of art demonstrating understanding of the principles of design to be submitted to the AP board for evaluation. The portfolio submission is the “exam” for this course. Portfolios will consist of two sections Quality (5 original pieces of best work to be mailed in), Breadth and Sustained Investigation (15 pieces submitted digitally that show investigation, experimentation and share a common theme). The 2D Design portfolio allows for additional mediums to the traditional such as digital art,fashion illustration and photography.
